Solution — Private networks

Private 5G networks and network-in-a-box

A complete standalone 5G network — core and radio — sized for one site, one campus or one operation. Fixed, or on the wheel.

What Quantum delivers

A private 5G network gives an operation its own spectrum-controlled, isolated mobile network: deterministic latency, guaranteed capacity, data that never leaves the site, and coverage engineered for the environment rather than for a population map. Quantum delivers these as a complete solution — external data network, core, transport, radio and devices — including a network-in-a-box configuration that packages core and RAN into a single deployable unit.

  • Whole network, one unit. Core and RAN in a single box removes the data-centre dependency that stalls most private network projects.
  • Scales from pilot to site-wide. Start at 1,000 subscribers and a handful of cells; grow to 10,000-plus and 100 cells, or federate multiple boxes.
  • Data stays where it is generated. Edge computing and slicing keep sensitive operational traffic on site.
  • Deployable. The on-the-wheel configuration puts a full private network on a vehicle for emergency, temporary and field operations.

Private 5G — frequently asked

What is a private 5G network?

A private 5G network is a complete, standalone mobile network dedicated to one organisation and one geography — a port, a mine, a refinery, an airport, a campus or a government facility. It uses the same 3GPP technology as a public operator network but its capacity, coverage, security policy and data are controlled by the site owner rather than shared with the public.

What is a network-in-a-box?

A network-in-a-box packages the 5G core and the radio access network into a single deployable unit. Instead of a core in a data centre and a separate RAN programme, the site receives one system that covers up to 100 cells and 1,000 to 10,000 subscribers, and can be connected to other boxes as the deployment grows.

Which industries benefit most from private 5G?

Operations where wired connectivity is impractical and reliability is operationally critical: ports running automated cranes and AGVs, mining with autonomous haulage and remote operation, oil and gas across remote fields and terminals, airports coordinating ground handling, utilities, heavy manufacturing, and government or defence sites requiring sovereign isolation.

Can a private 5G network be moved?

Yes. The private 5G on the wheel configuration mounts a full core-and-RAN network on a vehicle, which suits disaster response, temporary industrial sites, events and military or civil defence deployments where a network has to exist before infrastructure does.
